The special concert comes to Benaroya Recital Hall on February 23
SEATTLE — Step back in time and delight in classic melodies. Hear the impact of female artists with The Great American Songbook with the Seattle Women’s Chorus.
The one-day-only Seattle Women’s Chorus concert includes 22 popular songs and jazz standards from the early 20th century all written or made famous by women, including “Get Happy,” “My Funny Valentine,” and “What a Wonderful World.” Video storytelling will illuminate the performances.
“This concert showcases the timeless appeal of these beloved classics and celebrates the groundbreaking contributions of talented and influential female singers and songwriters who shaped this rich musical legacy,” said Paul Caldwell, Artistic Director of Seattle Women’s Chorus. “Their artistry and resilience continue to inspire us, and we can’t wait to bring their stories and songs to life on stage.”

The internationally renowned Seattle Women’s Chorus (founded in 2002) and Seattle Men’s Chorus (founded in 1979) together make one of the largest community choral organizations in North America, and stand out among the largest LGBTQIA-identified choruses in the world. Seattle Men’s Chorus and Seattle Women’s Chorus comprise one of the Pacific Northwest’s most vibrant music organizations, performing in Seattle’s most prestigious venues. Audiences from around Puget Sound and worldwide hear the chorus’ music live and on their video channels. Collectively, there are more than 450 singing members, along with staff and volunteers who support both Seattle Men’s Chorus and Seattle Women’s Chorus. They are a leading voice for the LGBTQIA+ community and offer both outreach events and main-stage concert performances annually.
