Signature Cocktail Recipes for the SMC Holiday Special!

SMC, we have a very special treat for you today—some signature cocktails crafted exclusively for our Holiday Special by our good friend Arnie! Arnie is an all-time donor of the choruses, including wine-paired dinners. Arnie has concocted 2 very festive cocktails to go with your holiday baked treats, or just by themselves to share with your other elves! Happy holidaze, everyone!!

The Holiday Vixen

This sassy lil’ reindeer cocktail will make any day feel like a holiday. It’s not just for Christmas anymore!

  • 2 oz. Rye Whiskey
  • 1/2 oz. Luxardo cherry juice or homemade cocktail cherry juice (recipe below)
  • 1/2 oz. green Chartreuse
  • 3-4 dashes Scrappy’s Seville Orange Bitters
  • Lemon peel garnish

Add all ingredients except garnish.

Stir gently 20 seconds.

Strain into festive cocktail glass garnish with lemon peel.

Gettin’ Blitzen

  • 2 oz. Brandy
  • 1/2 oz. Amaretto Disaronno
  • 1/2 oz. Cointreau
  • Juice from 1/4 lemon
  • 1T sugar
  • 1/2 Tsp. ground cloves
  • Crystalized ginger slices

Combine the sugar and ground cloves in a saucer

Moisten cocktail glass using the 1/4 lemon wedge.

Spin moistened glass rim in sugar mixture.

Place 4-5 ice cubes in cocktail shaker.

Add all ingredients minus the sugar and clove.

Shake Shake Shake till cold and sugar has dissolved.

Strain into rimmed cocktail glass.

Garnish with crystalized ginger slice either floating, or on the rim of the glass.

Cocktail Cherries with Juice

  • 1/2 bag frozen Trader Joe’s pitted dark cherries with some of the syrup from the bag
  • 1.5 cups Carpano Antica sweet vermouth

Place thawed cherries and syrup in quart jar. Add sweet vermouth. Store in refrigerator for at least 1 week and up to a year.

When getting low on cherries and juice, add more cherries and vermouth by sight.
