The Playhouse is a vibrant theatrical and educational facility and a landmark of modern architecture comprising a 470-seat main auditorium, a flexible black-box theater, and a generous forecourt and lobby. Built for the World’s Fair of 1962 and now operated by Cornish College of the Arts as its highest-profile venue, the Playhouse offers rich experiences not only in theater but also in dance, music and the visual arts.

Directions

From I-5

  • Take the Mercer Street exit (#167).
  • Continue onto Mercer Street and proceed 1.2 miles.
  • The Playhouse is located on your left, between 3rd Ave. and 2nd Ave.

From 99 Southbound

  • Turn right onto Valley Street.
  • Turn left onto 5th Avenue N.
  • Turn right onto Mercer Street.
  • The Playhouse is located on your left, between 3rd Ave. and 2nd Ave.

From 99 Northbound

  • Turn right onto Aloha Street.
  • Turn right onto Dexter Avenue.
  • Turn right onto Mercer.
  • The Playhouse is located on your left, between 3rd Ave. and 2nd Ave.

Parking

The closest parking structure is the Mercer Street Garage, with entrance on 3rd Avenue. Conveniently located across the street from Cornish Playhouse, this structure features a covered skybridge that provides easy access across Mercer Street from parking level C.
